HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS

ART FOR CHILDREN

How The Universe Works was a group show at Kunsthall Oslo in the summer of 2019, and part of their series of exhibitions and talks addressing the relationship between children and art. The artists were asked to make work specifically with children in mind.

I was asked to design the exhibition space as well as to contribute with works. The main design features were a bright yellow carpet, barred walls made from elastic cords, low curved passageways and two floating benches in the middle of the space, suspended between three mirrored pillars.

I contributed a group of sculptures named Channelers (see separate post), and a set of 12 postcards with emoji collages made with Instagram´s Instastory application on a mobile phone.

ARTISTS: Jennie Bringaker, Yngve Holen, Anawana Haloba, Are Mokkelbost, Christian Tony Norum, Roman Signer, William Wegman and Kiyoshi Yamamoto.

Made with support from Kulturrådet and Kunsthall Oslo. Curved passageways made by Bolt Metall A/S. Film made in collaboration with Carsten Aniksdal.
